Mental wellness is key to students' success

Early Prevention in the Community (EPIC) is a voluntary program that provides therapy to students with a current mental health diagnosis. This program offers individual and group counseling, activity therapy groups, links community resources and advocacy for children and their families at school and in the community.

Crisis Resources:

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 988
  • SASS/CARES Line: 1-800-345-9049

Who We Serve

We provide year-round counseling and community referrals to families who have children (ages 4–18) with a mental health concern and are living in Winnebago County or the Freeport School District.

What We Provide

Services are offered in the home to children and families outside of school hours. Participation in this program is voluntary. There is no cost to the child’s family for our services. We may bill Medicaid (or an MCO) for some services when appropriate. We coordinate services with school faculty and teaching staff, and other relevant community providers to connect families with basic needs, medical care, and other critical resources.

Where We Serve

EPIC is accredited by the COA.
