Strengthening Families Through Home Outreach

Our in-home coaching to expectant parents and families with children (birth – age 3) provide a strong foundation for children and families during the critical early years.

Our home visitors offer families guidance during and after pregnancy to improve child health and family wellbeing, nurture positive parenting skills, connect families with others in their community who are parenting young children, and link families to community resources—from assistance with basic needs to medical care.

Virtual visits are also an option and services are free and voluntary.

Who We Serve

We partner with expectant parents and families with children (birth – age 3) who reside in the following School Districts: Belleville 118, Cahokia, Chester, Collinsville, Columbia, Dupo, Edwardsville, Freeburg, Highland.

Criteria includes but is not limited to families experiencing:

  • homelessness
  • poverty
  • children with developmental delays
  • children with child welfare involvement
  • caregiver who are incarcerated/on parole
  • caregiver with no HS diploma or GED
  • or if a caregiver speaks a language other than English

What We Provide

We help families:

  • Build economic self-sufficiency
  • Learn parenting and stress management skills
  • Locate peer support and community referrals
  • Monitor developmental milestones for their children
  • Ensure school readiness

Where We Serve

The Stronger Beginnings program is a piece of our life. We have had the home visitor in our home on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for almost 8 years. She is no longer a home visitor, she’s family. She has been with us through our good times and our tough ones. Katie, Mom
