Building the Foundation for a Lifetime of Learning

Our Scott Child & Family Center serves families in McLean County. We have 13 classrooms, a large gross motor area/gym, and a large conference room for professional development. Located in a residential neighborhood and accessible by bus, the center also has 3 outdoor playgrounds and is on the same campus as the Crisis Nursery, Family Visit Center, and the Home Visiting House. Our degree-certified teachers partner with families to promote the growth and development of their children (age 6 weeks to 5). Families can expect low child/staff ratios and consistent communication on their child’s progress as well as healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks, and a balance of quiet and active play.

Who We Serve

Families with children (ages 6 weeks to 5).

Enrollment is based on one or more of the following factors:

  • low-income families receiving TANF, SSI, or SNAP
  • foster care
  • homelessness

Eligibility is determined via questionnaire.

What We Provide

We provide community-based programming for families with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to enhance the development of young children and promote healthy family functioning and learning through play.

Services cover early education and childhood development; medical, dental and mental health; nutrition; and parent education.

Through a balance of active and quiet play, teacher-led and child-initiated activities, your child will learn how to problem-solve, manage their emotions, build communication skills, and develop their critical thinking abilities in preparation for kindergarten.
