Community Prevention & Intervention (CPI)

Community violence generally happens outside the home in public spacesThis approach prevents and reduces violent crime in communities by supporting comprehensive, evidence-based violence intervention and prevention programs based on partnerships among community residents, local government agencies, victim service providers, community-based organizations, law enforcement, hospitals, researchers, and other community stakeholders. These strategies disrupt cycles of violence and retaliation and establish relationships between individuals and community assets to deliver services that save lives, address trauma, provide opportunity, and improve the physical, social, and economic conditions that drive violence.

Illinois Youth Investment Program (IYIP)

A multi-faceted approach to youth employment that invests in the future of Illinois’ at-risk transition-age youth (16-24). This approach to youth employment accounts for the youth’s employment barriers as well as the physical, emotional, social, and mental health needs while helping them to secure and sustain long-term and/or career employment thereby ensuring a greater likelihood of success and self-sufficiency.

Community based providers will partner with local employers to place youth in long-term employment opportunities within three months of enrollment. These employment placements may be part-time or full-time based on the needs of the youth. For more information email Marlo Passmore at mpassmore@brightpoint.org.

It’s incredibly powerful to watch kids in our programs as they discover they have it within themselves to shape their own lives and make a difference in their own communities. This isn’t a job. This is my life mission. Michel Quezada, Manager of Family & Community Engagement
