FCAN has merged with Children’s Home & Aid to deepen our impact with parents and children affected by HIV and AIDS in the state of Illinois. Throughout this merger, FCAN will continue to offer the same vital services, without interruption.
Why merge?
Since 1985, FCAN has been dedicated to strengthening HIV-affected families statewide. They support HIV-affected families by offering free, in-home clinical and legal services in the Cook County area and semi-annual retreats for families across the state. They have also been instrumental in developing public policies and programs through their statewide education and advocacy efforts.
Children’s Home & Aid has a similar vision for the communities we serve. For 135 years, we have met the changing needs of vulnerable families throughout Illinois. We embrace our responsibility to innovation and view this merger as an opportunity to expand our reach.
Despite the many advances they have made in fighting HIV/AIDS, HIV-affected families remain underserved. Many lack access to care and prevention services, information about HIV, information and access to public benefits for families with disabilities, and other services. Together, we can do more. This merger is an important next step in meeting the needs of HIV-affected children and families. Our combined organization will provide the increased talent and scale needed to have a broader impact on children and families in Illinois.
What does this mean for you?
