22nd Annual Crochet & Knit-A-Thon for Snug Hugs for Kids a Rousing Success
On December 1st in Aurora, Illinois, 90 men and women gathered at Resurrection Lutheran Church for a fun-filled day of crocheting and knitting to support Snug Hugs for Kids. The “CKAT” event was a great way for participants from many groups to work together on hundreds of gorgeous handmade items to be donated to children. These beautiful knitted and crocheted items include sweaters, scarves, mittens, booties, hats and blankets for all ages and sizes.
The chilly weather couldn’t break the warm spirits of our generous participants, which included a mother/daughter knitting duo and a 3-generational trio! A big thank you to each knitting group that participated this year:

Since 1990, Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops and Children’s Home & Aid have come together to provide coats and winter clothing for children of the Englewood community during our Snug Hugs for Kids event. With help from our crocheters, knitters and Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops, this year will be the most successful Snug Hugs event yet!
There’s still time to support this wonderful cause by bringing new or like-new winter items to your local Merlin 200,000 Mile Shop.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
