Bianca interned for the Partner Abuse Intervention Team (PAIP). While completing her master’s degree in education with a focus in Trauma-Informed Counseling at Northern Illinois University, she enjoyed being a part of a supportive team that she wanted to come back part-time, post-graduation. “I never guessed I would be doing this kind of work and feel so fulfilled by it!” Her passion is individual counseling but being part of the PAIP team provides her with the training to do group work and build connections with the populations they serve.
What made being part of the PAIP team a joy was working with the team. “It’s really supportive
and it feels great to be working with people who have the same goals in mind. We’re all here to help our clients challenge themselves, to grow, and to choose healthier alternatives in their lives”.
Bianca encourages those considering interning at Children’s Home & Aid, to go for it! “I was apprehensive about interning here in the beginning, however, with the help of my team and my own growing self-confidence as a counselor in training, it turned out to be a great decision”.
